Authorities say a man allegedly posed as a woman on Facebook, luring teen boys for sex.
Police say, Venderius James Holyfield used the Facebook name Jalisa Smith with a profile picture of a random woman promising to perform oral sex with a teen boy.
Holyfield told the teen he would be wrapped up in a blanket in the back seat of his car. He claimed it was because he had been videotaped before and wanted to prevent that from happening again.
According to Tarrant Police Detective Phillip George, the teen met with Holyfield on Aug 17th. Police were called to a Tarrant Store parking lot about a suspicious vehicle. The 15-year-old boy and his brother were inside the vehicle with Holyfield.
It wasn’t until they removed the blanket that officers and the victim learned that “Jalisa” was actually a male.
Holyfield was booked into the Jefferson County jail, and released the same day after posting a $35,000 bond. Tarrant Police charged Venderius Holyfield with attempted sodomy, enticing a child, and traveling to meet a child for an unlawful act.
